Welsh Family History was founded in 2023 by Jon Curtis and is based in South Wales. Supported by a small group of experienced and dedicated researchers, the team is committed to helping individuals and families research their Welsh ancestors across the UK and around the world.

Jon’s passion for social and family history began in 2001 when he was appointed to a management role at the National Library of Wales. He played a key role in early digitisation projects involving libraries, archives, and museums across Wales.
Jon also took part in a major BBC Wales genealogy roadshow and travelled across Wales as part of the Their Past Your Future project, interviewing individuals with memories of the Second World War and digitising their personal documents.
The team at Welsh Family History offers both traditional genealogical research and modern presentation services, including visual family trees, bespoke websites, and printed materials. One of the most popular services is the Starter Research Pack, which includes eight hours of research and two hours of writing, producing a detailed and personalised family history report.
Welsh Family History has premium access to all major genealogy websites and newspaper archives, along with its own growing library of Welsh history resources. Research is carried out both in the office and on-site at locations across Wales.
